Hey there! It’s good time for Tuesday Tell All! I thought it was time to update you on what’s been happening and to reintroduce myself! So here we go…My daughter, Alexa, and I started the Blessings & Sass Blog together while she was in college. However, in August 2019 after finishing her career as a volleyball player and earning her Master’s Degree at Belmont University in Nashville, Alexa moved to Minneapolis. Her move was to begin a career with a company in which she’d interned. That’s good and bad! Alexa’s always wanted a career in medical sales but that’s not what took her to Minneapolis! We don’t always understand God’s plan for us; so we must have faith that he wants us to prosper!
Having said that, after 10 weeks in Minneapolis, Alexa interviewed and received a medical sales position! And, she was promoted after only 3 weeks! By the way, my son had taken a promotion and moved to Minneapolis with his company in March of 2019! So it does my heart good to have the 2 of them living in the same city! But in different apartments!
Again, God’s plan not ours! So all that to say…that’s why it’s been just me on here for awhile! So I thought it was time to reintroduce myself in a Tuesday Tell All.
Here’s a few facts….
- My Faith is important to me and I trust in God’s plan for me and you!
- I remarried in July of 2018 after meeting my husband on Tinder in December of 2015. See my post on divorce here, here, here, & here!
- In June of 2019, I retired after 31 years in education. #librarian And, I LOVED the people I worked with and still miss them!
- Northern Kentucky was home for me my entire life! After retiring, I moved to the sunny side of Louisville #southernindiana to live with my husband. We’d had a long distance relationship for 4 years! By the way, I’d never lived more than 10 miles from where I grew up! So the move was a big deal for me!
- Together my husband and I have 5 children ages 20-27 with heights of 6’2, 6’6″, 6’7″, 6’8″ and 6’9″ all earning full athletic scholarships to college. #blessed Oh! And 2 of those heights belong to our daughters! #proudtobetall
- My husband and I are building a new house and we’re the contractors! So that keeps us very busy!
- I’m the middle child! My older sister is 13 days less than a year older than me and my younger sister and I are 17 months apart! All my life my family has said that I have “THE Middle Child Syndrome” But I’ve always said, I don’t have it they do! Seriously! #middlechild
- My mother passed away at the young age of 60 after battling juvenile diabetes all her life! It’s been 17 years and I still miss her! I take comfort in the fact that she’s healthy in Heaven! I’ll be 56 in May and the fact that she passed away at 60 really makes me think about my life.
- My dad now lives in Florida and is married to a man. He was faithfully married to my mother until her passing. Less than 3 months after she passed, he broke the news to us about his lifestyle change! Needless to say, we were still very much grieving the loss of our mother and then the man we’d known all our lives had feelings he could no longer suppress. That was a lot to deal with! With the passing of our mother, he was now able to acknowledge those feelings. And, Love is Love…PERIOD! He’s happy so I’m happy!
- I don’t take myself too seriously and try to find the humor in most situations! My husband says I like to entertain myself and…well…I do!
Why am I telling you all of this in my Tuesday Tell All…Because our life experiences are the fabric of which we are made! I’ve loved and lost, experienced heartache and happiness at all levels, been insecure, overwhelmed, scared, angry, in over my head many many times, and made mistakes…lots of them! But above all, I’ve learned to trust God’s plan and to learn from every good and bad experience that I’ve encountered on my path…a very winding and sometimes mountainous with deep valleys kind of path! But hey…that’s life! We either choose to grow and learn or stay angry and sad. I choose growth and joy!
I’ve second guessed continuing the blog without Alexa. I’ve had insecure feelings about it’s success and whether I should continue or move on to something different! But…every time I second guess it, I always get the overwhelming feeling to continue! I really do enjoy it and I’m continuing to learn post retirement! Also, after moving, I think of this as my connection to the friends that I’ve known for years and new friends that I’ve gained since starting this venture! This community has been nothing short of amazing! And, I’m so thankful for each and every one of you!
So there you have it…this is me! Thanks for following along! And tell me what ya think about my Tuesday Tell All!
